Silent Hill Planning

This is all very basic stuff that we had been batting around, and still open to adding change. It's just a framework to add/discuss from. I'm trying to organize it so we have some two way threads and don't have to worry about keeping up with a bunch of four way ones.

Finalizing Plans

■ They could be put down in suburbia, where Nikki (daughter of Jeannie Bell/Vernita Green) is seen fleeing a house, especially running from Beatrix when she sees her. Whether Beatrix follows or not, Jeryline would because she wouldn't take the chance that the Admiral wouldn't put them in a place with people they wronged. Potential threads?
 ▪ How did we get here and who the hell are you starter? I think Beatrix might be familiar with them but Jeryline isn't.
 ▪ Conversation about going after Nikki.
 ▪ Finding a medallion with a snake in an Oroborous/Gordian's knot formation on it. Probably a Copperhead to start with.

■ Following Nikki would eventually lead them to a church. Besides symbols surrounding Beatrix's traumatic wedding day, the church itself would have a Halo of the Sun, but the first circles would be filled with angelic script for the seven angels that stand before the throne of god and the symbol of their God (signifying this isn't a normal church, it's a church of the Order). Potential threads?
 ▪ Solving the Halo of the Sun puzzle by finding things in the church (don't know how, maybe in hymnals?), receiving second medallion (Black Mamba). Edit: Personally, I think solving the puzzle should mark the transition from Fog World into Otherworld, like here, here, and here.
 ▪ Fire is down with playing an Order style executioner version of Arthas (and has a potential picture picked out) that could attack while they're trying to solve the puzzle, so that Syl and Thass would have to fend him off. Would you be okay with this, Ash and Dee?

■ Eventually would make their way to the Hospital after seeing Nikki again. Lots of opportunities to split up (willingly or unwillingly) and find three more of the snake medallions (the Cottonmouth and Sidewinder medallions, need ideas there). Very open to stuff for Sylvanas and Thassarian in the hospital. Potential threads?
 ▪ Encountering the Buck!Nurses. They act like regular Nurses with a scalpel. They have bandaged heads and "Buck" and "Fuck" scarred into their knuckles. They sort of have that dirty old blood hospital bedsheet look to them.
 ▪ Eventual fight with Elle!Nurse Boss. Since many Silent Hill bosses have two forms, I think she should change form once she's blinded into something more grotesque. It would get them the final snake medallion (California Mountain Snake) that would fit into a secret panel and let them down into the morgue.
 ▪ Conversation with Nikki about how Beatrix took her chance to be a normal little girl while she's saying she wants to stay with her mommy. Random Possibility: What's on the slab isn't her mother but a dead monster, but Beatrix will be the only one able to see that? They could transition to "Safe" Silent Hill when Beatrix learns her bit of lesson.

ADDITIONS, still open for more ideas

Our heroes "wake up" in Light Silent Hill suburbia, in a copy of the Bells' house after Beatrix and Vernita trashed the place during their fight. The house should contain weapons: sharp kitchen knives at least, possibly a gun. The living room's filled with broken glass, furniture, and ornaments. In the kitchen, where B killed Vernita, will be a sizable bloodstain and the Copperhead medallion. Once the medallion's recovered, Nikki can briefly appear (either to everyone, or just to Bea) and run outside. As the group follows her and gets closer to the town proper, they may run into Grey Children – this would also be a good place for any monsters that may work for Thassarian or Sylvanas as well.

After they get to the church and find the gruesome spectacle there, as well as the Halo of the Sun puzzle to solve (configure the angelic symbols properly?). This is probably going to be a puzzle with clues in a riddle, and I like Binky's idea of clues stuffed into the hymnals (or at least in the pews). Shifting to the Otherworld/Dark Silent Hill around here would probably work well, as it'd give us a chance to bring in Fire's LichKing monster for Thass and Sylvanas and give Jeryline and Bea a time limit on solving the puzzle. (The LichKing monster breaking into the church could also be an obvious mirror of the Viper squad invading Bea's wedding rehearsal to execute the guests.) This would not be a bad time for "drops" or "rewards," and Nikki could once again appear in this scene, heading toward the hospital.

Not sure who should do what and when in the hospital, but I have a few ideas: 1. The pediatric (or obstetrics) ward should house a humanoid monster with a mutilated female face, dressed in a Japanese schoolgirl's outfit and wielding a kusari-gama (representing a childhood broken and inverted by violence: alluding both to 17-year-old Gogo Yubari, a psychotic Japanese schoolgirl who fought with a meteor hammer, and O-Ren Ishii, Beatrix's victim/former friend who lost her parents at age 9 and killed their murderer when she was 11). She will be guarding (or wearing?) the Cottonmouth medallion.
2. The Sidewinder medallion should, I think, be hidden under the floorboards somewhere as a reference to Budd burying Beatrix alive. Our heroes would have to break through the wood in a specific space (perhaps marked by a scrawled quote or image?) to find it.
3. Elle!Nurse Boss. Her human form is already pretty creepy, so we wouldn't have to alter much. In her monster form, I'm tentatively thinking a naga-type creature (humanoid head and torso, snake body and tail) with a poison bite or scratch, as poison's her signature weapon. Elle!Boss would represent not only an enemy for Beatrix, but also what Bea herself could easily become – even while human Elle is entirely merciless, unsympathetic, self-absorbed, and gleeful about killing. Beatrix will not be able to defeat this monster on her own -- symbolically and literally, she needs other people to keep her from surrendering to this horror.

I'm up for ideas in the morgue! Nikki definitely needs to confront Beatrix. The monster on the slab idea here is interesting, and I'm curious as to whether it would be a better idea to have them kill the fake, dead mother monster or to let Nikki stay with it and believe what gives her strength.

Nah, I don't think we should kill another monster at the end basically because Bea has already killed Vernita, and there is already a whole lot of stuff going on. It sort of takes away from the whole "child mourning the mother's death" thing.

With the church, they only thing of Jeryline's I'm going to put in is when the Church transitions to Otherworld, the figure hanging on the cross will be Brayker and not Jesus. The Black Mamba medallion will be in Braker's knapsack. Jeryline might need a moment to get over her D:

This is a good point. And if the body on the slab is only monstrous to Bea, she might be able to keep her reservations and judgments to herself.

I'm thinking Brayker's body, actually, to replicate what the Collector made Jeryline see to try and turn her.

Seeing as Budd/Sidewinder is a bouncer in a strip club, we're considering having the Sidewinder medallion be hidden underneath the floor of Heaven's Night, with Nikki leading there before the hospital. Would this be okay?
